Karibu Serengeti,

This is the ultimate park for safari experience, it is every visitors desire to see the “land of endless plains” as it is known by the nomadic Masaai who are found here. Serengeti covers an area of 14,760sq km. It is famed for the annual wildebeest migration and its wildlife density. The landscape can roughly be divided into short grass plains and woodland area. There is a common misconception that during the annual migration in late July, the park is virtually empty. In fact, the “migration” typically involves wildebeests and a couple of hundred zebras. Therefore, when the migration is over, there is a lot of resident wildlife to be seen and photographed all over the time of visit.

How to get to Serengeti National Park: It is only 35 minutes’ drive from SETCO Guide & safaris office based in Mugumu Town to enter the park via “IKoma Gate” in case your safari starts from Mugumu, and it is  6-7 hour drive from Arusha or you can fly with local flight to any one of several airstrips in Serengeti (several flights daily).

Activities:  Game drive & searching for migration, Serengeti balloon ride, see the kopjes (rock outcroppings), walking safari and night game drives outside the park.

Best time to visit: Year around.

Experiencing Serengeti: We recommend a minimum of two or more nights at Serengeti. Due to its proximately from Mugumu and its distance from Arusha, this park is seldom planned as a visit on very first day of a safari unless flights to Serengeti are planned. For this reason you need to consult our safari expert to plan the right program for you.
